Unser Fremdsprachenassistent Caleb Bausman stellt sich vor

Hello everyone!

My name is Caleb and I am the new English teaching assistant at the Gymnasium. I am from Boston Massachusetts, so the cold and snow aren’t new to me. 

This is actually my second year working as a TA in Tyrol. Working in the schools here has been absolutely wonderful. I love teaching the students about the U.S. and learning what life is like here from them.  

In college I spent a semester studying in Munich and I wanted to return to Germany or go to Austria after graduating. My past experiences as a teacher were fantastic, so I jumped at the opportunity to come teach in Austria. Going in, I did not know too much about Austria, but I quickly realized that I couldn’t have landed in a better place than Tyrol. The people here are incredibly kind and welcoming. I have also been taking full advantage of living in the mountains, either going on hikes or skiing. Despite the hard times we are going through, I am extremely grateful to be here right now and looking forward to spending another six months in this amazing place.
